Matthew Wlezien is a trumpet player and music educator in the Washington D.C. who has a passion for chamber music. Matthew studied trumpet at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with Ronald Romm, of the Canadian Brass and Dr. Michael Ewald. Upon graduation, he became a graduate assistant for Dr. Langston Fitzgerald, formerly of the Baltimore Symphony, and received his MM in trumpet performance from the Pennsylvania State University.
Since graduation, Matthew has performed with several orchestras and chamber groups in Washington D.C., but considers Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra to be his main love. Matthew currently teaches band at Lake Ridge Middle School and maintains a private trumpet studio with several students continuing to college for music.
